What is SherpaShare SCAN2TIP service?

SherpaShare SCAN2TIP helps drivers collect tips from passengers cashlessly. We assign one unique Tip Pass to each driver. Passengers can scan the Tip Pass to tip the driver via Apple Pay.

Why we build SCAN2TIP?

As of today, Uber does not have the tipping option, though they are under huge pressure to do so. The existing solutions to collect tips are too complicated, therefore, we build this cashless solution that passenger can simply scan and tip.

Who can use SCAN2TIP service?

The Tip Pass is mainly designed for Uber drivers. But it can be used for any person to collect gratitude from their happy customers.

How SCAN2TIP works?

Driver puts a unique QRCode inside their car that passengers can scan and install their Tip Pass . After that, passengers can tip the driver from the pass using Apple Pay. The tip is deposited to driver's account directly.

Is SCAN2TIP service free?

We use Stripe to process the payment so they will charge a standard fee. SherpaShare does not take any cut in between. However, the servie is only available to SherpaShare member.

What is TIP Pass?

SherpaShare Tip Pass is a Pass for Apple Wallet. It has unique information about the driver that passenger can refer to and tip. Below is one sample Tip Pass.

How to install Tip Pass?

From your iPhone, open the Wallet App, click "Scan Code" to add a new pass. Scan the driver's QRCode to install the Tip Pass.

How to tip using Tip Pass?

Once you access the Tip Pass, flip the pass over and click the tip link. It will forward you to a secure page where you can choose your tip amount and pay via Apple Pay.

As SherpaShare member, you can configure your pass here.

Why the Apple Pay button on the Tipping page is disabled?

It means the Tip Pass is not activated or disabled. Please ensure you have setup Tip Pass properly and has the SherpaShare membership. If the passengers don't have apple pay setup, the payment button will be disabled as well.

Where does the tip go?

Tips are deposited directly into driver's bank account. Drivers can download Stripe Dashboard App or use Stripe's Web Dashboard to access their tips on the go.
